Kidsproof award 2018: Best museum of Noord-Brabant. Third Best in the Netherlands

More than 4000 Museum inspectors have chosen peHistoric Villagen to  the "Kidsproof museum 2018 of Noord-Brabant". The brandnew Secretary for Education, Culture and Science, Ingrid van Engelshoven, handed out the awards. On top of that, the museum is the third best open-air museum of the Netherlands.

Wol- en Spinliefhebbers opgelet! Op 3 en 4 augustus houden wij een spinnersweekend. Je bent deze twee dagen welkom om alles te ontdekken over de geschiedenis van het spinnen van wol en vlas, maar vooral om zélf mee te doen.

Historical crafts lab
Iedere woensdagmiddag 15:00 - 17:00 uur

Did you Always wanted to learn how to forge iron? Or would you like to make a leathe purse? Then come from May 9th form 3 PM until 5 PM to the hisorical crafts lab! There you can learn what the medieval craft masters taught their apprentices. From forging to weaving - you can do it in our lab!

Historic Food Fest
September 21 & 22

Hunger! Through the ages people have had but a few basic necessities: nourishment, shelter, and clothing. In the weekend of September 21st and 22nd, we shall find ourselves in the quest for food: from prehistoric times till the late middle ages. How do you keep things from spoiling without a refrigerator? Did we drink alcohol in prehistoric times? What were proper table manners in the middle ages and where did they come from? How far did someone have to travel for that one meal?

October 5 & 6


From tunic to haute couture: it’s all about historical beauty and fashion during the weekend of 5-6 October. Did you know that even the first people decorated themselves? They would sow shell beads and amber pieces on their clothing. They also decorated their bodies with jewellery, tattoos and make up!
