Crafts from the past
Come and celebrate Midsummer at the preHistorisch Dorp during the event Ambachten van Vroeger (Ancient Crafts). On 22 and 23 June you will find out how ancient craftsmen and women would work with their hands to make the most beautiful creations. An educational and fun weekend showing many crafts.

Crafts throughout the ages
During Ambachten van Vroeger, creative souls from the Stone Age up to the early Modern Age will show what they can make by hand. The medieval craftsmen and women will gather around the market square, where they show crafts that have long since been forgotten. Don’t forget to visit the late medieval artisan’s house: there you will see someone weaving at the large loom and someone else spinning at the large spinning wheel. As you travel further back in time, you will come across people making clothes or utensils. And if you would like to know how food was prepared in the past, don’t skip the Stone Age! Every nook and cranny of the museum offers a fascinating view of the past.

- Time: from 10 AM to 5 PM.
- Price: an entrance ticket costs €12.50.
Free for children up to 3 years and holders of a Dutch Museumkaart. The Dutch Museumkaart is also available at the reception desk, while supplies last. - Ticket sales: online and at the reception desk.
Route and Parking
The preHistorisch Dorp is located in the north part of the recreational zone Genneper Parken in Eindhoven. You can reach te entrance to our historical park via the service road on the Boutenslaan (rondweg). Navigate to Boutenslaan 161 for the parking space.
There are two free parking areas with ample space for cars near the preHistorisch Dorp.
There is plenty of space for cars in front of the Leeuw Trainingscentrum at Boutenslaan 161. Parking on the public road near this parking lot is also free. From there you can reach our museum within a few minutes' walk. Preferably do not park your car in the neighborhood.
Is that parking lot full? Then park at Anton Coolenlaan 5. From here you can have a nice 15 minutes' walk through the green zone Genneper Parken to arrive at the museum. Along the way you will pass green meadows and wooded environments and grab a bite to eat at Paviljoen Genneper Parken or the city farm Genneper Hoeve.
