Opening for an education and display volunteer

Wanted: history buff

Would you like to make a valuable contribution to the preHistorisch Dorp? Do you know a lot about history and are you creative? Would you like to take a look behind the scenes? Then maybe a role as education and display volunteer is just the thing for you!

In this role, you support the activities of the museum manager. You will get a chance to observe experienced museum professionals and guide them in their challenges. One of your responsibilities will be to develop activities that the inhabitants of the museum can do with our visitors. Or you can research a specific historical subject: this can be for quiz questions on social media, for an educational and informative sign for an event, or… You have heaps of creative ideas and know how to communicate information in an accessible manner.

preHistorisch Dorp

The preHistorisch Dorp is the most kid-friendly museum in the province of Noord-Brabant. An open-air museum where visitors of all ages are actively reliving past daily life. You can travel through time and experience six historical time periods through living history, from early prehistoric times until the late Middle Ages. The museum has well over 70,000 visitors a year, many of which are families with children. Besides 11 regular employees and about 40 seasonal employees, more than 180 volunteers help out at the preHistorisch Dorp.

Are you interested?

You would have to be available for at least half a day per week. We will determine how often, on which day, and where you work together and we can offer some flexibility in your schedule.
