Pentecost in preHistorisch Dorp in Eindhoven can only mean one thing: Vikings! These seafaring people will take over our open-air museum for three days. Ready to jump back in time? Then come to Vikingfest on May 23, 24 and 25 and experience the early Middle Ages!

Free for children up to 3 years old, reservation is required
Museum card holders pay a surcharge of € 6, reservations are required. - Ticket sales: Online ticket sales for Vikingfest 2026 start on March 3. Be quick if you want to experience this, because once it’s sold out, it’s gone!
Please note: Vikings dressed in historical clothing are welcome to wander around our museum, but please leave your weapons at home!
Back to the Viking age
Vikingfest has been the biggest event in the preHistorisch Dorp, and not without reason: it's the best way to discover how real Vikings used to live. From decorated living spaces to ingenious crafts and an authentic Viking-market with various goods for sale. The preHistorisch Dorp is the place to explore what daily life used to look like. And of course, you can help here and there as well!
Viking shows
But that's not all… During Vikingfest you can also enjoy a variety of shows. Whether you prefer a battle between the toughest of Vikings or a captivating performance by historical musicians… You can be absolutely certain you’ll feel transported back to historical times, surrounded by villagers from the early Middle Ages.

Food & Drink
During Vikingfest, you can visit our medieval inn for a snack and a drink. You're also welcome to bring your own food from home. There are plenty of places to sit, such as one of our tree trunks, the grassy hill near the stalls, or in the woods. Plenty of options to choose from.

Bicycle
You can easily get to the preHistorisch Dorp by bike! Navigate to Boutenslaan 161b, cycle through the barriers onto the parking lot, and park your bike in the bicycle rack next to the entrance.
Public transport
Easily plan your route to Eindhoven station and the preHistorisch Dorp yourself on 9292. Are you taking the bus from the station? Then get off at the Boutenslaan stop (317, 407, 408, 7) or the Camphuysenstraat stop (15, 16).
Car
The preHistorisch Dorp has its own car park with a limited number of parking spaces (daily rate €5).
Is the car park full? There are several alternative parking options in the immediate vicinity:
- Boutenslaan 161B
You can park for free on the service road of Boutenslaan, on the museum side. From here, you are within a few minutes of the entrance. We ask that you do not park in the neighborhood surrounding our museum. - Antoon Coolenlaan 5
Another free parking option can be found on Antoon Coolenlaan. This is closest to the highway and allows you to avoid the city center. Ideal if you are coming from outside Eindhoven! From this parking lot, you can take a beautiful walk through the Genneper Parken to reach the museum.
